John Goodman's decision not to don a papal hat for a film role has earned him a new suit.
A German production company has filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against the actor for allegedly reneging on a deal to star in the upcoming film "Pope Joan," which was slated to begin filming next month.
According to court documents filed Monday by Constantin Film Produktion, the erstwhile "Roseanne" star agreed to a $500,000 payday to appear in the film, but later backed out of the deal.
Goodman's rep called the suit "frivolous."
